Interview With Fake Boujee

When sitting down with FakeBoujee, we got to ask him some great questions. The first one being, What got you into making music? He responded with, “I was selling weed at my friends house, and he was using FL Studio.. Instead of paying for weed he taught me how to use Fl Studio”. The next question we asked was, what was the first thing you learned from selling weed? He responded with, “fucking…..it’s a lot of running around”. We then asked, does in any way that same skill set required for selling weed applicable to music? He responded with “ ya just having to do it over and over again, it’s just like.. Repetition”.

We then asked FakeBoujee, what influences your music, and how did you get to this point? He says “I didn’t do music at all for 18 years, and then I had a guitar class in high school. I really liked that guitar class… and then I was like, fuck it whatever, college was too expensive, so I started floating around. I had jobs that were an hour away so I would rap in the car to stay awake. After a while I ran out of beats I liked so I was like, fuck it I’ll just start making my own beats.. I did that for a year then I stumbled into a job working at a recording studio with John” (Funny enough, this was the first time we met. We then went on talking about how we both found the job posting on Indeed, and how after staying behind and playing with his MPC, he was then offered a job to work at the studio. We then asked, what are your biggest musical influences? He responded with, “Juice World, Lil Peep, and Imagine Dragons”. Taken back from his last answer we further asked about his love for Imagine Dragons, he responded with. “Ya that was all I would listen to, radioactive. I didn’t get that there was more stuff, so if I found something I really liked I would listen to it like 1000 times.” With this new found appreciation for Imagine Dragons, we followed up by asking, when are we going to see a radioactive cover? He responded with, “I have one. It’s lost in time and space”.

After this disappointing answer, we asked, what were some musical influences as a kid? What were your parents playing in the background growing up? He said, “My dad played a lot of eminem, but I didn’t really get my music taste from them, I got it from my sister.. Like future, Lil Uzi.. etc.” The next question we asked was, what are your goals moving forward as an artist? He responded by saying, “I want to make enough money so I can afford an apartment, that’s it. Just so I don’t have to do anything else and I can just focus on music”. We concluded the interview by asking Fakeboujee, what’s his message to the youth? He responded with:
