What’s your name and where are you from?
Jay Astro
Raised in Boston but I rep the Bahamas
What made you first want to get into making music?
I felt it was my best expression of my thoughts, experiences and emotions. Hopefully my music can help someone in my same position.
Favorite music memory?
Recording my first music vid. Did it in my neighborhood brought all my friends and everyone got lit. Showed me how powerful music is when it comes to connecting people.
What’s your creative process for making a song / album?
First of all the beat has to speak to me. If I don’t make a stank face 10-15 seconds in I’m off it. Then I take 1-5 days writing, record a demo to hear how I sound, then by the end of the week the song is recorded and ready.
