What’s your name and where are you from?
Sam Walker , Perth Western Australia
What made your first want to get into making music?
always had a passion for music but nothing ever creative , Perth has a huge Dubstep and drum and bass scene which I got to experience growing up .
Favorite music memory?
Buying the prodigy album, invaders must die , was my first real exposure to electronic music.
What’s your creative process for making a song / album?
Always start with an idea in my head based off one or two reference tracks, once I find a 4,8 bar loop i can bear listening to repeatedly, ill try and expand on it from there.
Favorite song of yours currently?
My first track Mirror Maru , the track took me months of trial and error to finish , even now the mixing and levels are off , its clipping like crazy but getting over that initial struggle and finishing it was a proud moment.
What can you tell us about the new project?
Trying to go for big orchestral styled intros , something to grab the listeners attention.
Biggest musical influence?
The prodigy , Pendulum and Skrillex
You’re stuck on an island with an ipod with only one album, what are you choosing?
slipknot – Vol3 the subliminal verses
Plans for the future?
Just going to keep grinding the production and hopefully start playing some shows locally
Message to the youth:
Producing isn’t easy , but give it a go and don’t be disheartened if it doesn’t work at the start , slow progress is still progress.
